Introduction: Indonesia is located on the Pacific Ring of Fire, which geographically and climatologically has challenges in protecting and strengthening communities from disaster risk threats. Geological disasters, especially earthquakes, are one type of disaster that occurs in Indonesia. Earthquakes can be overcome when people have knowledge about preparedness. Adolescents contribute to disaster preparedness where adolescents are agents of change in disaster risk reduction. the factor that influences adolescent preparedness is social support. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of social support to adolescent preparedness in facing earthquake disaster
Methods: The type of research used in this study was correlational research with a cross sectional approach. The population of this study were all class X students at Al Junaediyah Integrated Islamic Vocational School as many as 147 with a sample of 107. Proportional Random Sampling sampling technique. Univariate data analysis using frequency distribution. Bivariate data analysis using chi square test.
Results: Most of the social support is supportive 80.4% and preparedness is ready 72.0%. There is a relationship between social support and preparedness (p-value <0.05).
Conclusion: There is a relationship between social support and adolescent preparedness in facing earthquake disasters.
