Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

Publication Ethics

Journal Development of Resource Science is a peer-reviewed journal. This statement outlines the ethical responsibilities of all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, the Editor-in-Chief, the Editorial Board, reviewers, and the publisher. This policy is based on the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.

Ethical Guidelines for Journal Publication

The publication of articles in Journal Development of Resource Science contributes to the development of a reliable and respected body of scientific knowledge. Peer-reviewed publications reflect the quality of scholarly work and the integrity of the institutions supporting it. Therefore, all parties involved in the publication process—authors, editors, reviewers, publishers, and readers—are expected to adhere to high ethical standards.
LPPM STIKes Sukabumi, as the publisher of Journal Development of Resource Science, takes responsibility for ensuring ethical oversight at all stages of publication. Editorial decisions are made independently, and advertising, reprints, or other commercial interests do not influence editorial judgment.

Allegations of Research Misconduct

Research misconduct includes fabrication, falsification, citation manipulation, or plagiarism in conducting, reviewing, or reporting research. When misconduct or serious irregularities are suspected in submitted or published articles, the Editors are responsible for safeguarding the accuracy and integrity of the scientific record.
In cases of suspected misconduct, the Editors and Editorial Board follow COPE procedures to assess and resolve complaints fairly. Manuscripts found to involve misconduct will be rejected. If misconduct is identified in a published article, appropriate actions—such as corrections or retractions—will be issued and linked to the original publication.
The initial assessment involves determining whether the allegation meets the definition of research misconduct and whether conflicts of interest exist among the complainants. If misconduct is plausible, the corresponding author will be contacted to provide a detailed response on behalf of all co-authors. Additional expert review may be sought when necessary. Institutions are expected to conduct thorough investigations where appropriate. Authors, journals, and institutions share responsibility for maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record.

Publication Decisions

Editors of Journal Development of Resource Science are responsible for deciding which manuscripts are accepted for publication. Decisions are based on scientific validity, originality, and relevance to readers and researchers. Editorial decisions are guided by journal policies and legal considerations related to defamation, copyright infringement, and plagiarism. Editors may consult reviewers or other editors as needed.

Complaints and Appeals

Journal Development of Resource Science maintains clear procedures for handling complaints and appeals related to the editorial process, peer review, citation manipulation, reviewer or editor misconduct, and other publication-related concerns. All complaints are handled in accordance with COPE guidelines and communicated transparently to the relevant parties.
